Bio VJ NEEF (Richard Neef)
After finishing the Art academy in 1997 (AKI Enschede) Richard Neef started
working on video installations and live video experiments with poetry and
dance.
After a long time of discovering the technical and poetic qualities of the
medium video and some performances which showed these, he decided to use
this knowledge to become a vj and create a very personal style of mixing. When
he entered the Dutch/Belgian "Visual Sensations" vj contest this style was
described by the jury as "It is music that you see".
With raw and subtle images and the use of video-feedback and a lot of analog
machines to mix and transform these, VJ NEEF won the Visual Sensations
2006/2007 final in Amsterdam.
After and before that VJ Neef performed at Transmediale Berlin. Robodock
Amsterdam, Impakt festival Utrecht, Club11 Amsterdam and has worked in
projects with or for: Tomato, De mislukte zigeuner, Playlab, The scandals, The
Hans Werner Henze festival, Merlijn twaalfhoven and more.
VJ Neef is located in Amsterdam and working on building a Linux based computer
program to create interesting patterns for live video montage and projection.
